Our themes for the month of May are getting ready for summer and Kindergarten. We enjoy crafts in Art on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In Religion, we are focusing on God's gifts. We are done working on recognition of letters of the alphabet with their sounds and now we are writing letters to improve our skills. In Math, we are doing well with addition. In Science,we are doing Biology experiments to learn about the human body and the continuing theme of states of matter provides us with a variety of experiments. At our morning meetings, we practice words we are learning in Spanish, learn new poems and songs each month.
In Gym, we exercise and play activity based games with Mrs. Tamburro. For Music class, with Mrs. Springer, we learn songs and enjoy Music that incorporates movement. We go to the Playground when the weather is nice and the Gym for Yoga and low impact aerobics when the weather is inclement. We have a busy Center time with many activities to choose such as painting at the easels and puzzles. After our morning snack, we have circle time with book reading, discussions to show comprehension, students taking turns to answer various questions on our topic of the day, and phonetic games. We sing songs every day based on letters of the alphabet and themes of the month.
Once a month, a librarian from The Phoenixville Library visits us to read books and to loan us some for circle times.
The full day students have a busy afternoon with recess, Lunch in the cafeteria, reinforcement lessons based on the morning session, and crafts.

The continued progress of the Shooting Stars!
The Pre-Kindergarten has two programs – the Pre-K 4 year olds (the Shooting Stars) and the Pre-K 3 year olds. Classes for the Shooting Stars are five days a week from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. There is a lunch buddy program for Shooting Stars morning only students so that they may stay for recess and lunch until 12:30 pm for a nominal fee. We also have an optional full day program for the Shooting Stars, which ends at 2:50 pm. In the afternoons, we have reinforcement lessons from the morning, crafts everyday, computer, educational games and once a week we have been going to the gym for hand and eye coordination games.
For the Shooting Stars, we have Religion, Art, alphabet lessons, Math, Music (with Mrs. Springer and also during our day), Yoga and low impact aerobics, Center time filled with many activities, Snack, and Circle time. Our Circle time involves books, book discussions, phonetics, short games, and songs. In addition to that, the Shooting Stars have Physical Education lessons (with Mrs. Tamburro) and Science. Our Science program is quite extensive and provides more than basic concepts. We learn much about plants, the human body, winter-themed concepts such as static electricity, matter, and how to use microscopes.
Parents receive a weekly newsletter as well as a class monthly calendar. Pictures are constantly added to our Snapfish album of classroom activities.
